Picked up a '14 SLT a couple weeks ago. Started dicking around with the Intellilink stuff and was disappoint with its features as compared to my wifes 5 year old Ford with Sync. Now I know its tough to compare the 2 but WTF GM, get with the times.

Anyways, I figured I would start this thread to share mods/thoughts/enhancements available or whatever based around the Intelllink system. 1st - AFAIK, the '14 version of the software wont read text over BT from your Android phone. I think the '15s up will.

Is there a software update from GM that will turn that feature on? 2nd - Theres a ton of space available for apps on the screen.

Are more apps coming? 3rd - Does anyone know if theres a way to see what the latest software version is available from GM?

I know where to find what version you have installed. 4th - I noticed the software is open source. Nissan consult 3 software crackers. Hopefully the software mods will come soon from neat people with computer skills. The 14 trucks will not read text messages.

There are no more apps coming. Press home, power, and menu down at the same time. A new screen will appear called the developmental screen, click on HMI. The very top one on there, the build version label nor one. It starts with a GMG, the last 4 are the only thing that matters. The latest software as of right now is N185.

You can also check radio software version from the developmental screen. Just click on tuner and then tractability info.

Scroll down till you see audio soft version, it will be to the right. The latest tuner software is 000477 or 000478 depending on what tuner part number you have. These are just 14 model year software versions. There is aftermarket software for it.

Like a navigation add on. But it can void your infotainment warranty and if the dealer reprograms the HMI, well you'll lose the nav.
